Wedding dress for a Mc-Queen to be

Well, well, well - Weren't we all surprised by the revelations this past weekend that the couture house of the late Alexander McQueen are designing Kate Middleton's Wedding gown (Or at least so a Fashion insider source claims)!

Sarah Burton, Lee McQueen's successor as Creative Director at the fashion label worked along side the very man himself for 14 years prior to his tragic suicide in February last year. The fashion label was most recently catapulted back at the fashion forefront by no other than Lady Gaga, who has famously wore some  of McQueens most outlandish designs, like the one pictured below which is suitably regal given the topic of this post!

Most Wedding writers and speculators are shocked by the choice because of the edgy nature of the fashion houses designs which is very much in contrast to Kate's demure but classy natural style. Neither Clarence House or spokespersons for the McQueen label have confirmed the revelations, but the one thing that is clear is that Sarah Burton has been involved in designing the Wedding gown of a member of the Royal family before.

Sara Buys in her Sarah Burton designed gown
Sara Buys, daughter-in-law of the Duchess of Cornwall, had her Wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton a number of years ago for her own Wedding. Far removed was Sara's gown from the typical dramatic McQueen look, with a feminity about it that has come only from designer Sarah Burton herself. The gown below, a bespoke design for a contributing editor at American Vogue magazine resembles very much what we at Timeless White thought the nations next Princess might wear.

So, if you were surpised to hear that Kate Middleton, Queen of Britain-to-be, has gone with perhaps one of Britains edgiest and more innovative design houses, you might be even more surprised on the day to see her in something suitably Kate, wearing a silhouette exactly as you imagined she might.

But who'd have thought Kate Middleton would be wearing Lady Gaga's favourite label on April 29th? Not us!

Prince Williams Stag Party Revealed!

Over the months, there has been a mass of speculation surrounding the sort of send-off Prince William will receive from his mischievous younger brother, Harry. Including rumours that a Burlesque duo had been approached to perform! As it turns out, it's rather conventional and surprisingly refined!

Prince Harry will be leading the Stag Celebrations

William will be celebrating his send off at Sea -  With antics beginning in the form of extreme Water sports, to include Water skiing, Surfing and Speedboats in the South Coast of England. Interestingly, Wills and his 20 friends who will be coming along to celebrate will not be allowed to drink alcohol before or during the activities and will be left parched until the Evening affairs kick off! The Evening leg of the celebrations is planned to take place in the form of a Pub Crawl on board a boat - with the Pub's being visited only accessible by boat. The night will end with the 20 gents staying at one of the party-goers homes nearby.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall for the chat the following morning!

100 days to go...

As Kate and Williams big day creeps ever closer, speculation over the entire arrangement, not least the Wedding dress, has been mounting.

Many members of the public, paparazzi and media are wrapped up in the speculation surrounding Bruce Oldfield as the designer of Kate's Wedding dress.  Even couture designer Ben De Lisi is convinced that Bruce Oldfield is the "one" when it comes to Kate's Wedding dress! Kate, her mother and sister paid Bruce Oldfield a personal and elongated visit at one of his London boutiques, expanding the speculation. While it could well be that Bruce is the designer of 2011's dream dress, I would suspect that he will in fact be responsible for dressing an array of Wedding guests, quite possibly including the Mother of the Bride and the Bridesmaids. I still think Issa could be in the running, or a smaller unknown designer may well be catapulted to fame with the appointment of the daunting task of designing a Royal Wedding dress!

Bruce Oldfield - Could he be "The One"?

One decision has been made and let known to the general public. And it is perhaps the most upsetting of all - Kate won't be making her way to the Ceremony in the only carriage that is better than Cinderella's, the Royal golden carriage! Instead, Kate has opted to be driven in a limousine. I for one was looking forward to waving at her perched at the side of the mall! However, my hopes aren't entirely dashed, newly married Princess Catherine and Prince William will make their way back to Buckingham Palace in the Golden coach before Kate's new in law's will play host to a Royal Wedding Buffet....instead of a banquet.

Hmm, all of this frugal attention to detail, while we appreciate Kate and Wills' concern for the greater good (The country's finances) we sure hope they will be throwing caution to the wind when it comes to the dress!

Be sure to check back for more gossip soon, we've been doing a LOT of research lately so there's lots of news to come!
