Which Designer? Which Gown?

Since the announcement of the Royal engagement, there has been much speculation over not only who will design the iconic dress of the future Queen, but what style of dress Kate (Or Princess Catherine, as she'd like to be known) will choose to wear down the spectacular aisle that awaits her at the everlastingly British Westminister Abbey. Today, we are going to consider some of the Designers tipped to be front runners for the ultimate Wedding role and the types of Dress we can expect to see on April 29th.

Designer - Phillipa Lepley

A leading British Couture designer, whose store is based on Fulham Road in London. Phillipa Lepley gowns are typically tremendously feminine and understated. Made from some of the most outstanding fabrics in the world, Phillipa Lepley is currently placed at the top of William Hill's "Wedding Dress designer" odds.

 Designer - Bruce Oldfield

Another of the most renowned British Designers, Bruce Oldfield is known for his exquisite  and delicate gowns. With a wonderful 3 floor emporium in Beauchamp Place, London, Bruce has extended his undisputed reputation to obtain an OBE and is also a child of the Barnardos charity and has now become a Vice President of the charity.

 Designer - Ian Stuart

Ian Stuart has become a hugely famed Scottish designer for creating old-school, somewhat eccentric,  while still feminine gowns. Having won countless Bridal designer awards and previously worked with Bellville Sassoon and designed for the royal family, it is every bit reasonable to suspect that Ian may well be chosen to play Fairy Godmother for Kate Middleton.

Designer - Elizabeth Emanuel

The hugely famed designer of Princess Diana's gown is tipped to be in with a shot at bagging 2 Royal Wedding Design opportunities within her career. Having been catapulted to worldwide designer fame after the spectacular Wedding of Prince Charles to Diana Spencer, Elizabeth Emanuel has designed for Joan Collins and Elizabeth Taylor to name but a few.

Elizabeth Emanuel - Bespoke Design for Kate Middleton

For us at Timeless White, regardless of the designer, we think that anything less lace, delicate than the above design by Elizabeth Emanuel would be a big surprise. Kate Middleton is known for her good taste and sophistocation and the elegance of traditional lace with a fitted cut is just about the only thing we can picture Kate in! Though, Kate may well choose to pick something particularly fashion forward and opt for a more modern design featuring Taffeta, Silks or Ruffles.

With love, TW x
